wytbw: i am almost 30

the tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. the tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. - benjamin may

months ago i set out a list of things i wanted to do before i was 30. as i am approaching the 6 {gasp} week  mark it is becoming apparently clear that my list of 30 things will not get completed. i think i took on a little more than i can handle. i'm not really surprised. that is typically how i roll.

here is the synopsis of what i have completed:

1. get family photos taken {in the works}
2. take landon to the zoo.
3. take a week off work for a staycation.
4. lose 30 pounds. {slow and steady. i will be kicking into high gear for the final push}
5. read 5 books. {2 down, 3 to go}

6. have a yard sale.
7. attend a craft expo.
8. participate in a craft fair.
9. go on a family picnic.
10. spend a day at the museums downtown.
11. volunteer for a local charity.
12. surprise a stranger with an unexpected gift.
13. own a silhouette.
14. fill blank walls in my house with family photos.

15. finish decorating landon's room
16. finish decorating the master bathroom
17. finish decorating the kitchen
18. finish decorating the living room one
19. finish decorating the living room two
20. go on a date every month with my husband.
21. try five new recipes for dinner.
22. take landon on a special mommy/son date every month.
23. create a craft/sewing room for myself. {it's a little area in our bedroom but it's mine}
24. sign up for a photography class.
25. paint a piece of furniture.
26. go to a flea market.

27. update wardrobe.
28. sew my own outfit.
29. make 5 projects from my pinterest boards.
30. make photo books of my wedding and my son's first two years.

unless i am crazy, which obviously i was a little off when i made this list, there is no way i will finish everything. i think i can make more of a dent. i have six weeks and christmas shouldn't take up too much of my time.

do any of you ever make outrageous goals like this?
how do you feel when you don't meet them?

i am going to try and focus on the items that are the most important to me and worry about the rest for next year. i can always make a 31 by 31 list. {seeing the number '31' literally just scared the crap out of me}

ok, enough about me and my ancient self. it's your turn to share what's important to you this week.

remember, it can be anything! it doesn't have to be a craft or recipe. pick your favorite post and share it!

i will be picking features from this week and last weeks link party since i didn't do a features post on sunday. i feel that is the fair thing to do.

as always, thank you for linking up!

Love that quote! That is quite the ambitious list ;)

Great list!

I can definitely resonate with wanting to make a wedding album and album of the kiddo for his first 2 years...I'm in the same boat ;)

Thanks for the link party!

Thanks for the invite Ginger! I linked a couple of projects up but they don't seem to be displaying right now. Maybe it's just delayed though. I can totally relate to over estimating how much I can get done! You would think I would learn...

I love your bucket list... and although I'm already over the "30" hill, it inspires me to create my own. Better to have goals and not reach them all then to not have any goals at all, right?

Thanks for the linkup!

Hey thanks for hosting and telling me about your link up! Yes, I always make extreme goals for myself and I like to go back and see what my goals were and how I've met them. Love your list, make 5 pinterest projects is totally one of my goals :)
