cookie countdown {brownie crackle top cookies}

i mentioned to y’all last week that i will be attending a cookie swap with a bunch of my girlfriends. the date is fast approaching {this saturday} and i am getting very excited and nervous and scared and excited. we had a lot of fun last year so i don’t expect anything less, except for better cookies from me. because as you saw, last years were just embarrassing.

most of you know that my mom is one of my best friends. she is my person. even though she lives in another state she still likes to participate in my life as much and the best as she can. this year she decided to participate in my cookie exchange!

i received 6 dozen brownie crackle cookies in the mail. let me tell ya – they are delicious

since i personally didn’t make this batch of cookies i can’t explain the complexity but they look simple enough.  i was told that whisking by hand was for the birds and an electric mixer is definitely needed.

  • 1 package fudge brownie mix (13-in. x 9-inch pan size)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  • confectioners’ sugar

in a large bowl, beat the brownie mix, flour, egg, water and oil until well blended. stir in chocolate chips.

place confectioners’ sugar in a dish. roll dough into sugar. place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until set. place racks to cool.
